Theophanes

Of Greek origin.

A combination of two Greek words: “θεός”, theos, meaning god, and “φάνης”, phanes, from the verb “φαίνω”, phenoe, meaning appearing.

Means “manifestation of God”.

The name became common in Greece, due to the “Theophania”.

Theofania, also called “Φώτα”, meaning “lights”, is a big religious celebration.

Also known as Epiphany or The Blessing of the Waters, it is celebrated on January 6 and is a celebration of Jesus Christ’s baptism by St. John the Baptist.

Feminine form of the name is Theophania.
